Welcome to my learning blog.

Along with heading Mathematics Department in my school, I am given addition duty of academic advisor (Mentor) for classes VI-VIII. I think that being a Mathematics Educator, this course will help me in improving my skills in assessment techniques and I will be able to explore formative and summative methods in detail.

Assessment tools and strategies consistently and effectively removes the surprises from getting final grades by the students. When integrated into teaching and learning on an ongoing basis effectively, students can constantly improve and excel, and it will give me an opportunity to device better methods to develop such tools.

1.1.          Example question

Please write a question and accompanying mark scheme in the box below to meet the requirements set out for your subject.  It should assess the relevant NCERT curriculum content.

1.1.1.1.   English reading requirement

1 short answer question which assesses a class VIII or IX student’s ability to explain the meaning of a sentence which appears in a short passage of suitable text.  Please include the source text for the question.

1.1.1.2.   Maths requirement

1 or 2 short answer questions which assesses a class VIII or IX student’s ability to analyse the data in a bar chart and describe what it shows.  Please include a sketch or image of the graph for the question.

1.1.1.3.   Science requirement

1 or 2 short answer question which assesses a class VIII or IX student’s ability to describe and explain the results of an experiment or investigation.  Please include a relevant sketch or image of the experiment.
